AMA Answers | Part 2

And, now, I give you Part 2 of my Ask Me Anything answers.  You all came up with such great questions for me, and I enjoyed answering them.  (If you missed it, you can first read Part 1here.)

Q: Would you rather meet Jane Austen or J.R.R. Tolkien?

A: Jane Austen!  Though I would love to meet Tolkien, too.  I have plenty of things I'd like to ask both of them.

Q: Favorite snack?

A: Chocolate?  Can that count?   I love snacking on dark chocolate, like Twilight from Ghirardelli--heavenly.

Q: Favorite period in history to learn about?

A: I most enjoy American Revolution to the War of 1812 period.  But I like history in general.  (Just not the American Civil War.  Nope.)

Q: Favorite song?

A: It's always changing.  Right now, it's Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-Flat Minor, Op. 23 (etc. etc.) -- I am so obsessed with this suite right now.  The 20 minutes (give or take) of it are so enchanting.  Go listen to it.  (You can thank me later ;-)

Q: Do you like coffee?

A: No, …

Tolkien Week Tag

At last.  It is time for me to fill out the tag for Hamlette's Tolkien Week.  (No, I don't care that it's a little out-of-character for my period drama blog.)  I have thoroughly enjoyed playing her games and reading her posts for the week so far, and, as I am rather late in participating, I had better get to it:

2. Has your love of Middle-earth affected your life?

If those effects can include quoting the movies, constantly singing the songs and listening to the score, …

Today, I have the answers to some of the questions you all asked me.  I'd like to thank those of you who kindly asked me questions; I do appreciate it.  If you didn't but would like to, there is still time to ask me questions in the comments ofthis post before I post the Part 2, so, please, feel free! :-)

     Now, on to the questions:

Q: What is the strangest thing you've heard about Australia?

A: Well, I have heard that if Australians don't vote, they have to pay a fine.  Also, they eat kangaroos.  I don't know if either of those are true, but that's what I have heard.  Perhaps you could tell me...

Q: What do you do to find inspiration when you're feeling low creatively?

A: Usually, I get my best ideas when I am in the shower and can just think without interruption.  That doesn't apply to blog post ideas, however.  I haven't got a method for those yet.  Another thing that always sparks my imagination is beautiful scenery.  Like if we are walking i…
